Best run ever!

Yesterday I went for a run with an old friend, Jeff Seeley. Jeff has been doing marathons and triathlons for about 6 years and is an amazing runner. We went on about a 45-50 minute run and picked his brain for pointers. The guy is just a wealth of info! This is the run we did:

Was an amazing run, I was pretty nervous going in but kept a pace a little quicker than I am used to and only faltered a couple times. Jeff had us run the last km at a race pace which was just awesome, thought I was going to die at the end but was so worth it!
The coolest part was hearing how he started running, from the Sun run to the Vancouver marathon to the Boston marathon (so amazing!) to training and competing in triathlons.
Pretty cool, if I can inspire someone to run like he has for me, that would be pretty amazing!
Still really enjoying running and biking, not biking as much as I'd like but loving it!
Got some great pointers on a training program for the Las Vegas half and am really looking forward to putting them in action and seeing the results.
Still nervous about the half marathon but getting more excited by the day as my running progresses. Still amazed at how far I've come in a short few months, and the fact I'm still sticking to it and really enjoying it is really cool.

time flies when you're having fun!

Well, it's been a while since I last blogged, a lot has been happening!
Just got back from a weekend on the Island surfing, what a blast! Was my birthday present thanks to my extremely awesome wife!
We stayed a the Black Rock Oceanfront Resort in Ucluelet, got a wicked deal on the room and what a room let me tell you! Ocean view from our deck, bathroom the size of our bedroom at home with a separate tub/shower with a rain shower!
Saturday and Sunday we had two hour private surf lessons thanks to the awesome folks at Relic Surf Shop in Ucluelet. Was a blast, surfed in the past but without much success and now within four hours I can get up almost every second or third try, was so awesome!
Took part in the 2nd annual North Burnaby Beer Mile! What a blast, chug a beer run a lap times 4 for a mile total! So happy I finished and even more happy I didn't puke and have to run/drink another lap! Got to meet some really cool people and had a great time. Thanks to Jeff and Heather for a great afternoon, can't wait for next years!
Also, on the running front, call me crazy, I'm running the Las Vegas Half Marathon on the strip at night on December 4th. Crazy considering I've only been running since July 17th and more crazy because I'm only doing my first 5k in November! Hopefully I can do the half marathon in less than three hours, I'm hoping for 2:30 - 2:45 but ultimately will just be happy finishing in the allotted four hours they give you!
Been jamming with Todd from the Mcrackins lately, have a bunch of new songs we're working on for a new album, some really good songs! Just need our pal Spotly to join us and all will be awesome!
Well, that's it for now, been riding, running and having fun being back in BC, team Bubba out!
